2007

In this year alone, KaVo has been responsible for 19 product innovations. This includes the ESTETICA E80 treatment unit – A model of superior, attractive ergonomics.

With the KaVo 3D eXam, cutting-edge 3D x-ray technology has been combined with an ergonomic design.

KaVo COMFORTdrive – The world’s first contra-angle handpiece with an integrated motor for precision work without fatigue.





2005

Excellent diagnostics: With the KaVo DIAGNOdent pen, you can quickly and easily detect caries at every location - now from a proximal direction as well.

 

Surprisingly quiet: KaVo has set new benchmarks with the GENTLEsilence LUX. The operating noise has been reduced to the lowest level ever.





2003

A further KaVo innovation - pain-free caries therapy using ozone gas is the main topic for discussion at the IDS 2003 event in Cologne.



2002

The CAD/CAM age in dental technology has begun and the first KaVo Everest systems are delivered.



1997

The new treatment units of the ESTETICA series mark a further milestone in the successful KaVo equipment production.



1994

Certificate for fulfilment of the quality management standards ISO 9001 and EN 46001.



1992

The presentation of the KaVo KEY laser at the IDS is the beginning of dental treatment with little pain.



1982

Integration of optical fibres into the turbine. Later on, this development will be extended to include all instruments. It makes the dentist's work much easier.



1980

The now legendary treatment unit REGIE 1050 celebrates its first appearance, as does the DOMINO practice furniture range.



1977

The MULTIflex coupling, another KaVo innovation, is presented to the specialists. It continues to be an acknowledged equipment standard today.



1976

Founding of the factory for dental equipment in Warthausen.



1965

The 1025 unit is the first KaVo unit which permits the treatment of prostrate patients. It is the start of an ergonomic revolution in dental practices.



1959

Consistent growth continues: The dental technology factory in Leutkirch is opened and KaVo now employs 750 people.



1952

Resumption of equipment production with the standard 1010 unit.



1946

A new beginning: KaVo moves its headquarters to Biberach in Upper Swabia, where instrument manufacture can be started again.



1928

The world's first sterilizable handpiece from KaVo.



1919

Richard Voigt joins the still young company, which moves to Potsdam.



1909

KaVo is founded by Alois Kaltenbach in Berlin-Steglitz and soon develops into one of the market leaders in the dental sector.
