12 kg is the average dust load of hazardous substances that a dental technician receives per year.
Very great danger lurks in very fine
dust. What are very fine dusts?
Dust particles which can enter
the lungs and have a size between 0.01 and 1 µm. Whether
cobalt, nickel, beryllium or quartz, dental technicians
who do not use a perfect dust extraction system are living
dangerously. However, substances such as plaster, gold or
plastic also impair the health of your employees.
The articulator from KaVo
The innovative evolution of articulators is called KaVo PROTARevo, which sets new standards in the market. Our designers have further developed KaVo’s typical, striking use of shapes and optimised functionality to a high
level.
The result is articulators, which by their nobledesign and colouring
hygiene and value, communicate
almost by themselves.
Be inspired by the extra values of the PROTARevo

Transfer stand (0.622.1141)
Used for mounting the maxillary
cast in the articulator in the laboratory with the aid of
the joint piece (0.622.0901) of the ARCUS facebow. The facebow
can thus remain in the practice.
Present high quality
Alongside perfect precision
and first class finishing of the prosthesis,
presentation to the patient is becoming
more and more important. KaVo has
placed this decisive aspect in the centre of the new
development. The
matt silver surfaces denote a high level
of hygiene in the dental surgery and laboratory. This
is underlined by the high quality appearance
and elegant use of shapes in the design.

The orbital plane guide for non-KaVo facebows, together with the transfer stand, permits the use of facebows from other manufacturers on the PROTAR system. The upper component indicates the reference plane for the Frankfurt horizontal plane. The lower component serves as a support for the respective facebow.
Presentation
A presentation
of the technical
work in the
articulator is essential for your success.
Whether the discussion regarding the prosthesis
takes place between the dental
technician and
the dentist, or between dentist
and patient, the
surroundings are always
in the field of vision.
The clinical appearance of
the PROTARevo leaves no doubt about the hygienic surroundings
in the surgery or laboratory.

Progress in drives
KaVo has consistently developed the convenient and at the same time
powerful laboratory drives. K-POWERgrip, K5plus and K4plus have now resulted in a new generation
of laboratory drives which enable their users to work optimally in every
respect. Thanks to their new motor technology, which produces a 20% lower surface
temperature, these up-to-date KaVo handpieces are convincing by providing
yet more convenience - even in continuous operation and under high load.In terms of torque, probably the most important performance criterion
for laboratory drives, the K-POWERgrip sets a standard. Moreover, the number of components has been minimised in all KaVo laboratory
drives. This ensures that KaVo handpieces are entirely customer-friendly
in service and maintenance. An important contribution to the profitability of your laboratory. And if your KaVo handpiece should in fact be "ready for the workshop",
for example because certain components are subject to mechanical wear,
KaVo After-Sales service guarantees fast and professional handling of
all repairs and short throughput and maintenance times. Dental technicians worldwide rely on KaVo. You know
why.
Comfort and vitality KaVo's laboratory furnishing ranges combine functionality,
ergonomics, a long life and outstanding appearance into a new, harmonious
workplace. IndividualityWishes take shape - dreams come true. A laboratory which
suits you. Functionality
Whatever your position - your KaVo furnishings always work hand
in hand with you.. Maintenance of value
KaVo means quality. Selected material tested for work in the laboratory
will always be there for you.
Why are very fine dusts hazardous
to health?
The lung is particularly at risk from very
fine dusts. The very small particles penetrate deep into the
alveolar region of the lung and remain firmly fixed there.
Here, they lead to tissue changes and scarring (pneumoconiosis)
and can cause skin allergies.Concentrations above certain limits can have fatal effects
on the human body, for example poisoning or cancer. How can you protect yourself from
this?
Good dust extraction is essential. The use of a tailored suction
hood with safety screens provides even more protection.
What criteria should be observed for dust extraction systems?
The suction power: not too little, not too much. The separation (in %) depends on the filter. All KaVo dust
extraction systems have a 3-filter system.

Precision
The success of a dental prosthesis is strongly
connected with its precision. The fit on the
tooth stump and the construction of the
occlusal surfaces have a
large bearing on its life
span.
Precision of the occlusal surface is dependent on
precision articulators in the
hands of an experienced dental technician.
Denar adapter (0.622.1351)
The Denar adapter permits the use of the
Denar facebow. In this case, the complete joint piece of
the Denar facebow is positioned correctly in the PROTAR.
For this purpose, the Denar adapter is inserted instead
of the incisal pin into the lower part of the articulator.
