Whenever sensible and possible, we seek to make our lives easier. Following the mantra, "Why complicate it, if there is an easier way?" Applying this philosophy, KaVo developed the new ESTETICA E50 treatment centre, which as usual is based on traditional KaVo quality and reliability, but offers even more simplicity, ease-of-use and expansion options. The ESTETICA E50 simply provides more comfort during your clinical procedures. The many intelligent details, such as the intuitive user-interface of the dentist element featuring direct selection buttons, make your work easier and allow you to fully focus on your patients. The MEMOdent function can be used with every handpiece, to recall the saved parameters for repetitive procedures, both quickly and easily. The freely-selectable handpiece configuration of the dentist element, optionally featuring 5 or 6 handpiece holders, provides essential flexibility not only today, but also in the future. The sophisticated ergonomic swing-arm and table versions of the ESTETICA E50, ensure optimum access and therefore highest efficiency for all manual actions. Optimally positioned on the soft upholstery of the operating chair having an anatomical seat recess, lumbar support and double-jointed headrest, patients of virtually all body shapes and sizes are comfortable and fidget significantly less during treatment. The chair can be adjusted optimally for all treatment situations, between the lowest position of 395 mm and the highest position of 780 mm. The KaVo multi-function foot control allows you to command all chair, handpiece, and multimedia functions of your treatment centre. The wireless version provides the benefits of maximum freedom of motion and improved hygiene. Through direct selection buttons on the nurse's element of the E50, your assistant works more efficiently, since all important functions may be accessed quickly. The large swivel arc and height adjustment range, make the assistant's element optimally accessible at all times and thus promotes an ergonomic working posture.
Very easy to use and "Simply the Best" also applies to hygiene in the ESTETICA E50. The treatment centre is very easy to clean: Important components may be removed easily for disinfection. All panels are sealed or close-fitting, preventing dirt and debris from entering the treatment centre. Regularly activate the automatic HYDROclean function, to ensure the operability of your treatment centre at all times. Pre-mixed ready to use, DEKASEPTOL gel requires no preparation. This saves your assistant valuable time. Both permanent and intensive disinfection functions with KaVo OXYGENAL, allow you to play it safe under all circumstances.
Integrated technologies of the ESTETICA E50, such as the new motor control KaVo SMARTdrive INFORM TECHNOLOGY, ensure you're well-prepared for the future. SMARTdrive places full torque and particularly low vibration levels, even at the lower speed of 100 rpm, directly at your finger tips. Due to the broader speed range, all straight and contra-angle handpieces may now be used in a more versatile manner. For endodontic applications, the treatment centre may easily be fitted with the KaVo KL 702 electric micromotor, featuring optimum torque-control and an impressive speed range of 100 rpm to 40,000 rpm. The new ultrasonic scaler, KaVo PiezoLED, ensures optimum tooth cleaning in a precise and effective manner. The low S-table system height of just 45 cm, promotes an ideal ergonomic working posture for relaxed work without fatigue and reduces the risk of interference with the operating light or operating microscope. The optimum balance of the swing-arm brackets, relieves the strain on the muscles of your fingers and hands. The retracting spring-force of the swing-arms may be set individually. It is also entirely your decision whether you wish to work with one, two or no locking positions, for each individual swing-arm.
The elegant arm design of the ESTETICA E50, is highly functional, affording an optimum range of motion, with ideal pathways for the reach of your hands. The intelligent tray support may be mounted on the right or the left side of the table. In the swing-arm version, the tray support may be mounted in either the "portrait" or "landscape" mode, slid smoothly and continuously in the horizontal plane, or locked easily and quickly in one of several pre-determined lateral positions. KaVo helps prepare for the 2009 Euro Cup with the ESTETICA E80 treatment unitBiberach/Riss, 08/06/2009 - The training camp for the U21 national football team at Tegernsee, in preparation for the EM 2009, concluded successfully – and the KaVo ESTETICA E80 treatment unit was there!

During the U21 training camp, dentist Dr. Steffen G. Tschackert (Frankfurt am Main) – known among other things from Germany`s Next Top Model by Heidi Klum 2008 and Austria`s Next Top Model 2009 – offered the young players a special kind of dental prophylaxis. To prevent tooth disease during the important Euro Cup games, the teeth of the U21 players were thoroughly examined for any signs of pathology, with the ESTETICA E80 unit. Such a precautionary examination before an international tournament is a first for the DFB (German Football Federation) and serves to prevent and reduce sports injuries, according to Dr. Tschackert. According to the famous dentist, many muscular diseases can be traced back to dental origins. The reason for this unprecedented activity: Two players suffered from dental problems during a recent important tournament.
This precautionary examination proved fortuitous and timely. Some players in the U21 will have to be treated before the start of the Euro Cup in Sweden on June 15th, 2009.
The ESTETICA E80 unit also featured prominently in another high-level sporting event: During the 2008 summer Olympic Games XXIX in Peking, KaVo offered superior dental care to the athletes with ESTETICA E80 units and other KaVo equipment.

An advanced hygiene design also provides safety, prevents treatment errors and protects the practice team and the patient.

Biberach/Riss, 18/08/2008 - The KaVo ESTETICA E80 treatment unit can be flexibly adjusted for the specific requirements of the dentist and the patient and enables optimum working with a healthy, ergonomically correct posture. An advanced hygiene design also provides safety, prevents treatment errors and protects the practice team and the patient.
The hygienic design of the ESTETICA E80 has many benefits and includes an automatic rinsing program which makes the daily rinsing of all water lines easy. The variable rinse time is easily activated by the push of a button.
The continuous and intensive sterilisation with KaVo Oxygenal 6 prevents the spread of micro-organisms during normal use and ensures that cooling and spray liquids remain of high quality even after extended standing periods. A ring water line in the dentist element ensures that the system is continuously rinsed. The valve for preventing back suction on KaVo instruments and motors protects patients and prevents contaminated spray water from being sucked back into the treatment unit.
The automated hydroclean function cleans the entire suction and drain system including the suction hoses with water and disinfects them with the fully-automated dosage of Dekaseptol gel.
Dekaseptol and Oxygenal 6 cleaning and disinfecting agents are integrated into the body of the unit and are dispensed as required by the Dekamat or Oxymat devices making manual cleaning and contact with disinfectants is completely unnecessary, saving the practice valuable time.
The smooth surface design of the unit also has very few areas where dirt can collect. Frequently touched parts such as handles, instrument holder and mouth rinsing basin can be removed, disinfected and in some cases sterilised to prevent cross-contamination.

The intelligent, flexible ESTETICA E80 treatment system has been designed with ergonomics in mind, and therefore it guarantees smooth movement sequences that assist you to maintain a healthy posture without strain. The integrated endodrive and surgical drive are completely new features. It is now not only unnecessary to purchase additional expensive instruments but the unit optimises the workflow and provides improved ergonomics.
The KaVo SL 550 surgical light motor can be added to the classical six instruments on the ESTETICA E80 instrument holder. This provides the user with the unrestricted functions of a modern surgical unit with the KaVo INTRA LUX CL 10, INTRA LUX CL3-09 and INTRA LUX CL3-04 surgical light instruments, a feature unique in the market. The ESTETICA E80 automatically recognizes which of the KaVo surgical light instruments you are using, and sets the correct reduction ratio. Program steps for up to six implants can be set at the program level. The display on the dentist element shows all important settings. The maximum torque of each step is measured and provides you with important information for evaluating the primary stability of the implants. The INTRA LUX SL 550 surgical motor provides a maximum torque of 5.5 Ncm over a speed range of 300-12 000 rpm. In the upper speed range the torque is reduced to protect the bone and prevent the motor from overheating. The torque can also be limited for additional safety. The attachment of the surgical motor to the dentist element by a quick-release coupling makes it easy to remove the supply hose and motor for sterilisation after treatment.
The ESTETICA E80 comes with the new, collectorless sterilisable KL 702 motor. In addition to its normal speed range (2,000 – 40,000 rpm), it has a special endodontics function with adjustable torque limitation. Depending on the transmission ratio of your instrument, you can freely program torques within 0.15 and 8 Ncm. The speed range of 100 – 6,000 rpm is also available. The parameters for six different endodontic steps can also be stored to optimise the workflow.
This treatment unit is unbeatable with these integrated specialist components. The perfectly adjusted workflow integrates all instruments allowing the user to concentrate on the treatment and measurably reduces the time required for treatment. Innovative solutions mean improved safety, and reductions in lost time and money, making the unit more economical to use.

The Design Edition transmits modernity and progressiveness to your patients – important factors for practice marketing and patient loyalty.
The Primus 1058 unit will be available in five new designs from May, 1st 2008. The Silver, Purple, Orange, Green or Blue Design Editions have everything the dentist requires and give the dental practice a new ambience. The different colours and designs will emphasise the special atmosphere of your practice – from relaxing to fresh to stimulating. Establish a relaxing atmosphere for an environment free from anxiety. The painted parts on the body of the device and surface of the dentist’s element are specially customised for the new Design Editions. The Primus 1058 is also a visual high point for both dentist and patient.
The KaVo Primus 1058 treatment unit is noted for economy in the practice, comfortable treatment and simple, effective hygiene.
Its versatility with six different unit models with optional right or left-hand operation has been enthusiastically received by more than 20,000 dentists all over the world and the design is ideal for treatment procedures and dental surgeries.
All available models feature either the standard patient chair or the COMPACTchair, which comes with angled footrest, flat seat and a backrest that reclines to 80°. An optional soft cushion for the standard chair offers additional comfort for patients. Short and tall patients can relax completely during treatment, whilst securely supported by the ergonomically shaped seat indentation and backrest cushion.
The comprehensive KaVo hygiene features, such as the Hydroclean function or continuous and intensive sterilisation, guarantee the continuing value, long life, functional safety and protection of the Primus 1058 unit.

The intelligent treatment system ESTETICA E80 impresses even the most experienced user. The flexible adaptation of the new KaVo unit to the individual requirements of the dentist leads to a smooth sequence of bodily movements and to a healthy stress-free posture.
The innovative suspended chair concept offers an incomparable increase in freedom of body and leg movement during treatment. Comfortable, relaxed positioning of the patient is achieved through the individual adaptability of the seating, backrest and headrest. The horizontal adjustability of the unit ensures that the oral cavity of the patient is always in the same position even when the chair is re-positioned. No further adjustment of the light or delivery system is necessary.
Both the dentist’s and the assistant’s elements of the ESTETICA E80 are provided with a configuration and an ergonomically perfect instrument layout ready for the future.
The new, brush-less, sterilisable KL 702 Motor with optional endodontic function, as well as the possibility to integrate the surgery motor SL550 into the dentist’s element, makes expensive additional instrumentation for endodontics or implantology superfluous.
New integration possibilities at the assistant’s element such as, for example, an intra-oral camera or an additional surgery aspirator, together with the individual layout, allow for flexible treatment procedures and lead to a more efficient workflow.
For a central organisation of the complete practice techniques, like microscopes, X-Ray units, or surgery lights, KaVo offers the Centro modular support system. This system provides for numerous individual configurations, and expansion possibilities for future technology.
The ESTETICA E80 is provided with automated, standardised hygiene functions, such as continuous or intensive disinfecting and hydro-cleaning functions. This enables simple, time-saving hygiene and prevents maintenance failures. Contaminated parts such as handles, instrument holders or cuspidors are removable and can be disinfected or sterilized.
The outstanding quality and precision of the component parts guarantee a long working life for the ESTETICA E80, making it extremely wear-resistant, which provides for very infrequent maintenance routines.
As a whole, the unit is endowed with the highest functionality through the interaction of the components. Innovative solutions provide the user with a gain in safety, time and money. Biberach/Riss, 21/05/2007 - At IDS 2007, KaVo presents to the market its new GENTLEray 980, a diode laser for soft tissue surgery, decontamination procedures in periodontics and endodontics, as well as for laser-assisted bleaching. The laser is distinguished by an especially user-friendly software, and is available in two versions.
The diode laser GENTLEray 980 works with laser light in a wavelength of 980nm which shows minimum absorption in water and high absorption in haemoglobin and melanin. Classical operating areas for the new KaVo laser are soft tissue surgery with good coagulation effect, disinfection of tissue by the treatment of bacterial infection, laser-supported sulcus sterilisation or endodontics, as well as laser-assisted bleaching. The KaVo GENTLEray 980 Laser is available in two versions – Classic und Premium.
The GENTLEray 980 Classic provides a performance of 6 Watt cw, is delivered with a hand-piece containing 300µm fibres as standard, and can be optionally upgraded to the Premium variation. The GENTLEray 980 Premium is designed for better patient comfort and a faster healing process with a water cooling system (peristaltic pump). This reduces thermal damage, thereby enabling less painful treatment with a reduction of post-operative discomfort.
With the aid of the water supply, blood particles remaining after the SRP are rinsed from the pocket, so that as well as the laser-assisted sulcus sterilisation, disepithialization in the pockets can take place more efficiently. Furthermore, the GENTLEray 980 Premium diode laser provides a higher performance (7 Watt cw, 12 Watt peak), and the possibility of micro-pulsation at a frequency of up to 20.000 Hz. The increased treatment efficiency of the Premium variation allows for faster procedures and shortened exposure times to the laser beams. Apart from the water cooling, the pulsating application of the laser beam can further reduce undesirable thermal side effects, taking into consideration the tissue-specific relaxation time.
Operation of the small, lightweight KaVo GENTLEray 980 diode laser, which can be employed for 30 preset indication-specific conditions, takes place simply and hygienically via the touch-screen display. Also new is a software-aided help function with application recommendations, which is of great assistance to the dentist.
In comparison to conventional therapy, treatment with the GENTLEray 980 ensures only light bleeding, reduced swellings and in the course of time, just minor post-operative discomfort as well as the reduced need for pain relievers. This results in comfortable, painless therapy for the patient and a stress-free treatment situation for the operator and the practice team.

At IDS 2007 KaVo presented the world premiere of the new caries contact-handpiece 2063 for the KEY Laser 3. It is the first contact-handpiece in the world for hard tissue lasers which allows direct contact to tooth surfaces during treatment.

Biberach/Riss, 21/05/2007 - At IDS 2007 KaVo presented the world premiere of the new caries contact-handpiece 2063 for the KEY Laser 3. It is the first contact-handpiece in the world for hard tissue lasers which allows direct contact to tooth surfaces during treatment.
With the new KaVo caries contact-handpiece 2063 for the Er:YAG Laser KEY 3, it is now possible for the first time to tangibly remove carious substance by direct contact with the tooth surface, without damaging the laser head. The well-known Feedback System, as used by the KEY Laser 3 in periodontics, can also be utilized to assist in the removal of caries. The unique Feedback System, based on laser fluorescence, is a special combination of diagnostic and therapy systems. It is able to detect not only damaged tooth substance, but also concretions.
A satisfactory cooling of the preparation site at all angles is achieved by the patented water supply system. The pain sensitivity for the patient can thereby be additionally reduced. An upgrade is available so that all KEY Laser 3 units currently on the market can be modified for the usage of the new caries contact-handpiece.
Together with three further handpieces, the KaVo KEY Laser 3 makes possible a protective, effective and painless application in periodontics, restorative dentistry, endodontics, peri-implantitis therapy, and surgery. With its numerous indications, including those approved by the FDA, this laser offers the broadest operational spectrum of all laser systems to be found on the market.
All functions of the laser can be controlled by the multi-function foot controller or by menu control at the touch screen. Thanks to the integrated adjustable spray supply, the flexibility of the light conducting fibres, the roller bearings and a simple connection to an available electrical socket, the laser is mobile and immediately ready for operation.
